National Children's Hospital for City Centre
Wednesday the 15th of February 2006
The Government has decided on the Mater
Hospital site as the location of the National Children's Hospital as
proposed by the Health Service Executive.
This is a very welcome decision as it locates this national facility
at the centre of the public transport system and thus will be easily
accessible to the majority of citizens.
"It is indeed very welcome news for city centre" according DCBA
Chairman, Basil Good who went on to say "the policy of linking up
facilities and public transport is critical for the quality of life for
citizens in the future as the economy and population grows. The
commitment that the National Children's Hospital will be a multi
denominational and pluralist in character is important and reflects the
changing nature of our society".
