Get Into Your City Centre - It's Never Been Easier

  • There are 22 car parks and over 10,000 parking spaces in the city centre to cater for the shoppers cars. Many of these are open 24 hours and all are within a five-minute walk of the city's high streets.
  • There are 1,100 buses in the Dublin Bus fleet. The increase in buses is paralleled with the increase in Quality Bus Corridors (Quick Bus Corridors) from 12 km of road in 1999 to road to 84 km today. Dublin Bus carry over 140 million passengers per year.
  • The Luas 'Park & Ride' facilities at the Red Cow, Sandyford, Balally and Stillorgan offer motorists a great alternative to driving into the city. Luas now carries 20 million passengers per year.
  • There are now almost 12,000 taxis and 1,200 hackneys to bring people around the city.
  • 90 trains a day travelling into Heuston and Connolly Stations cater for people coming from cities and towns around the country with direct connections into the city centre.
  • Dublin Bus has a new city centre circle route - Route 92 - which links Heuston Station to St. Stephen's Green via O'Connell Street Bridge.
  • DART now carries 27 million passengers per year.
  • As a result of the huge investment in infrastructure, the city centre is now the easiest location to get to and does not suffer the congestion experienced in the greater Dublin region.
